Cross-bearer plays with historical icon imagery to tell the story of the suffering of the modern human being. Self-realization is the martyrdom of our time. Because of our lack of ideas we worship constructed identities as contemporary icons. Tortured by an unattainable self-image we constantly seek the spotlight, to be watched, admired and mirrored. Self fulfillment is our aim, veering between the two selves: The Super Hero and the terrified squab. Invincible or completely worthless.

We are all masters and geniuses in contempt of dependency and intimacy. Our cross we must still bear.
